Lord Balfour South Beach will join the boutique hotel scene in Miami’s South Beach this winter.

The hotel is part of Desires Hotels, a collection of stylish, distinct and creative boutique hotels.

Each of these lifestyle hotels is known for its one-of-a-kind architecture and interior design.

Located on Ocean Drive, South of Fifth Street, the hotel is in the SoFi neighborhood.

In 1940, the Lord Balfour, which has an exterior reflecting the industrial era, originally opened. Today, it is in Miami’s vibrant arts and culture scene.

Lord Balfour was a Prime Minister of England and an Earl.  The hotel’s 64 “bright and airy guest rooms” have woven his history into their interior design.

“Fully entrenched in his formal titles and British traditions, Balfour was considered to be totally irreverent,” says Desire Hotels. “It is whispered that he and Lady Elcho were greater than friends and less than lovers, which was a liberated idea for their time and titles. We live in a new era – and this is South Beach.”

In the hotel’s lobby and bar, the design style is chic vintage combined with animated and witty details.

The guest rooms have natural and sustainable bamboo hardwood floors and over-sized windows which overlook the courtyard and Ocean Drive.
